The 2012 Colour Run is currently touring through 20 U.S. cities. The only requirement is wearing a white shirt. Throughout the run, participants are doused in bright pigments (cornstarch that is 100% natural and safe). Each kilometer is focused on a specific color – 1k is yellow, 2k is blue, 3k is green, 4k is pink, and the 5k finish is a “Colour Extravaganza” where a rainbow of hues are thrown.

Finally mailed out all of my replies to colleges, and look what came in at the same time? Appropriate timing ftw.

I died a little bit officially declining the offer to NYU, and haven’t yet paid the deposit for GW (lol, shhhh) but at last - my college search has come to a close! Raise high the buff and blue :)

Me: [looking at large package in mail addressed to me] oh! it got here really quickly!
Mom: What’s in it?
Me: Er, it’s this dress I ordered for graduation. It’s not the gown, but what I’m planning on wearing underneath
Mom: How much did it cost?
Me: Uh…. a lot of money…..
Mom: Dammit Karen. You’re not even earning your own money yet.
Me: Yeah, well… you know. 

Whoops. She’s in for a tough surprise when my gorilla screen printed dress from Romwe and GW hoodie/sweatpants come in the mail in the next few days. Oh man, getting my own checking account was the best/worst decision I could have made for myself.

But anyway, I faackin love this dress! The upper is, in fact, see through which is marginally awk because I’m planning on wearing it with a light pink lace bra (meaning it’ll look like I’m wearing nothing underneath the dress, lol), but I love the pleats and lace and collar and pretty much everything about it anyway. $48? Worth it.

Noted: the lyrics to “One Thing” are wonderfully gender neutral. Awesome!

Also in the mail today: Frank O’Hara’s Lunch Poems! The good and bad balance out, I guess.

My first admissions decision and I couldn’t be happier.
